Keeley leads paediatric physiotherapy at Down South Physio and works closely with the wider team. Depending on your child’s age, injury and sporting involvement, older teenagers may also be supported by one of our sports physiotherapists. Care is always guided by what’s most appropriate for your child at each stage.

Care that supports development, not just symptoms

Children and teenagers’ bodies are growing, changing and adapting quickly, which means pain, injury and movement issues need to be assessed with development in mind.

At Down South Physio, we take the time to understand how growth, sport, school and everyday activity intersect, then guide kids and teens with clear explanations, gentle hands-on care and practical strategies that support confidence as well as recovery.

When physiotherapy can help kids and teens

Parents often wonder whether pain or movement changes are just part of growing — or something that needs support. Physiotherapy can help when discomfort, injury or movement issues start to affect confidence, sport, school or everyday activity.

  • Ongoing pain during or after sport

  • Growth-related pain (such as heels, knees or hips)

  • Sporting injuries or repeated strains

  • Changes in coordination, balance or confidence with movement

  • Recovery after fractures or surgery

  • Pain or injury that’s limiting participation at school or sport
